"Winds of Change" Green Jobs Rally
United Steelworkers District 2 Director Michael Bolton and Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk will join labor, environmental and community leaders for a rally on green jobs from 2:30-5:00 p.m. at the Labor Temple, 1602 S. Park St., Madison, Wisconsin. Come enjoy the speakers, educational displays, and music provided by the Blue Beyond Band. For more information, call 414-453-3127. This event is free and open to the public.
The Wisconsin Green Jobs for America (GJFA) Campaign was launched in April, 2008. The Wisconsin team includes Chuck Geiger (Blue Green Alliance), Rosemary Wehnes (Sierra Club) and Tom Peplinski (USW.) A Town Hall about solutions to global climate change that create "green" jobs was held on May 7th at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. Panelists included: State Senator Julie Lassa, Phil Neuenfeldt (AFL-CIO), Caryl Terrell (Sierra Club), and Dave Bonistall (New Page Corporation.)
We will have a booth at the upcoming Midwest Renewable Energy Fair in Custer, Wisconsin (June 20th-22nd.)
